I am the owner of HELP with my BLOG!, and my name is Denise “Katie” Palmer.

My Business Background

I’ve been providing Internet Support Services for more than 16 years.  I’ve done this full-time, from my home, and have always known this is EXACTLY what I am meant to be doing.

My business background was established in my early career days, where I worked in Corporate America in the Business Consulting, Telecommunications, Computers and IT, and International Investing industries.

When desktop PC’s were first introduced into the corporate world, I immediately took to them like a duck takes to water. I would take every break, lunch hour and many, many after hour trips to the computer room at Northern Telecom where I was the Information Center Specialist, and work for hours on end.

At one point I had the opportunity to work with EDS, out of Dallas, using what was then, one of the first “portable Macs” (which weighed over 30 lbs), using a proprietary piece of software they had developed, to go into major corporations such as American Express and analyze workflows making data architecture and work flow model presentations to top executives (basically I was a paid “head-cutter”).

How I Landed Online

And then during the late years of my Corporate career I was put on assignment by my multi-millionaire boss who owned multiple telecommunications and international investment companies, to “learn” how he could benefit from this thing called the “Internet”.

At that time, it was a completely text based environment, without websites, and Yahoo was positioning to be the KING of the Internet (and they were for many years there in the beginning).

As websites began to evolve, I had already been on the Internet for 2 years.  So folks started coming to me asking if I could, or would, create a website for them.  I didn’t know if I could at first….didn’t have a clue how they were done, but curiosity got the best of me and by taking the code from whatever was already out there, I began to learn how to code HTML, from scratch.

A year later, Charlotte Entrepreneurs Online (CEO) was born, and I began offering my website design and maintenance services, hosting (I bought my own servers) and online marketing services, and anything else that folks would pay for that I could do online.

Since that time I’ve created multiple online companies and sold them; created multiple blogs and sold them; and continued to provide a very wide range of Internet services throughout the entire time to worldwide, national, and single-owner companies.

What I Don’t Do

When people ask me what I “do”, I tell them it’s much easier to tell you what I don’t do…..I don’t write copy for other people, I don’t code javascript and I no longer do any flash work.

Of course, there are small sections of other things I don’t know how to do, or don’t care to do, in those cases, I have developed a broad network of people like myself that do enjoy working and specialize in those areas.

But generally speaking, I cover quite a wide range of Internet Support Services personally, and I guess you could say my “speciality”, as of today, is Wordpress Blogging.

So what’s HELP with my BLOG! about and why now?

I have had plenty of sites of my own where I’ve offered any combination of services.  The problem for me was that I was always so busy working on client projects, my own sites would be severely neglected and eventually out-dated as my skills and business ventures grew faster than I could update my sites.

I found myself abandoning one after the other, without any impact on my business growth, as it was more than 90% referral based for many, many years.  And using my clients URL’s as my portfolio, was much, much easier than maintaining my own site.

However, now my business has grown by more than 400% over the last few months, and I’d be nothing but “foolish” if I didn’t spread my wings and take my skills and services to the next level.

Directly, I can only work with so many clients, on so many projects at any given time.  But indirectly, I can help exponentially more.

How?  By personally training others to do what I do.  Even if I teach the most basic skill set, I could significantly reduce my hands on time, reach more clients, and help someone become just a bit more financially independent.

Plus, there is a ton I can do outside of the scope of a project to help support a clients on-going Internet venture.  With my own blog, I share information once, with everyone, and they can take what they need to help themselves.

So, HELP with my BLOG! will be the beginning of a new era for me, after 16 years of basically working completely behind the scenes, solo.   I’m excited about the opportunity to serve more entrepreneurs, expand the range of services I can offer through my skilled networks, and bring lots of highly trained, motivated and enthusiastic new folks on board.
